“They had the choice to sulk in the disaster or find beauty even from the ashes.” ~ S.S. Jubilee
Imagine a world in decay, where the remains of a wondrous former age dot the landscape amongst dirt encrusted concrete and brick warehouses. Such a juxtaposition exists in Downtown LA, where glorious ‘Art Deco’ buildings of the 1920s meet the urban sprawl of the 80s. Drawing from the visual narratives of films like ‘The Warriors’ and ‘The Divergent Series’ – we asked ourselves what would fashion look like in an ‘Urban Decay’ society. A culture where humanity struggles to express itself in new and meaningful ways, without the ability to draw on it’s own rich heritage. Set to a background of fantastic street art, and piles of urban refuse we took all this inspiration, explored it and crafted our vision around it. Enjoy!
