“Fashion is about dreaming and making other people dream.” – Donatella Versace
Designer Diego Binetti started his collection “Love Binetti” after working as a fashion stylist for publications like Bvlgari and Italian Vogue and being educated as designer in Milan, Italy. “Love Binetti” as a collection is the culmination of Diego’s time working as a designer for brands like Jill Stuart, Kyuso and Abaco-Italy. Diego aims to present not only a fashion collection, but a lifestyle that is desirable and empowering to the modern woman. Diego hopes that “Love Binetti” will bring a bit of luxury into everyone’s wardrobe.
With Love, Diego Binetti
Justin Howard for Black Chalk : How did you get into fashion design? What appeals to you about it?
Diego Binetti : At early age, a curiosity for beauty captured me and drove me into fashion. My mentor and inspiration was my beautiful mother. She introduced me to the craft and instilled a passion for it in me.
Black Chalk : What do you enjoy most about designing clothes?
Diego Binetti : The art, the playfulness, the craft, the energy and the freedom that you can create with your pieces. Doing anything with your heart, that makes you truly happy.
Black Chalk : As a designer what is the most challenging part of your job?
Diego Binetti : The everyday challenge for me is discovering the unknown. That excites me to seek for more from life.
Black Chalk : If you had the choice of any designer in the world to collaborate with, who would it be?
Diego Binetti : I would like to say I’m open to meeting the right fashion house or designer. As long as the collaboration benefits both partners.
Black Chalk : Describe the style of your collection?
Diego Binetti : Playful, feminine, bold, and a touch androgynous.
Black Chalk : Any advice you want to share?
Diego Binetti : Live life to the fullest without any judgments… For we are all children of God.
Black Chalk : What was your inspiration for this season’s collection?
Diego Binetti : Exotic travels, people walking in the streets, colors from nature, and landscapes that stole my breath away.
Black Chalk : What do you think of the fashion world being driven by trends?
Diego Binetti : Honestly, I am not a big follower of trends. I consider myself to a bit of a rebel when it comes to fashion. But I understand that people need a trend system to follow, or else it’s easy to become lost.
